'Sun'
Tarot brooch.
Silver, enamel paint, mirrors, tintype, steel.
Acquired by MAD Musée des arts décoratifs, Paris.
Orignally part of the Tarot exhibition, held at La Joaillerie par Mazlo. Based on the Tarot card ‘Sun’ where two children are depicted below the Sun. A young boy meets another in a garden, and then realises it’s actually himself. Often deemed the most positive card in a Tarot deck.
Two mirrors on the surface of the card can be fixed forward to reflect the boys face, or folded flat to reflect the viewer.
